Overview
Gokyo Lake trekking is the another popular trekking in Everest Region. The sparkling, pristine blue and green waters of the Gokyo Lakes are one of Nepal’s most memorable sights. Gorkyo lake trekking is a lifetimes experience that provide a very beautiful views of mountains , glaciers and top passs Gokyo- RI (5,357m). From the top of Gorkyo RI you can see stunning view of Mt Everest, Mount Lhotse, Mount Makalu and Mount Cho Oyu over 8,000m high mountains in the world. You will also see the Khumbu’s most majestic panoramas views – the ice ridge between Mount Cho Oyu and Gyachung Kang. It also offers great view of the longest glacier in Nepal and stunning view of the blue and green water of Gokyo lakes. Likewise, the trekkers will have a chance to experience with high widely varied vegetation in Sagarmatha National Park.Gokyo Lake Trekking provides experience of the culture and civilization of Sherpa people.
The trekking start from the 30 minutes flight from kathamndu to Lukla. When you are land in lukla airport , you will continue your trekking and reach to Phakding,and next morning you will walk through green forest and reach to Namche Bazzar .You will have a rest in Namche Bazaar,you will go to explore the sherpa culture,musuem, and go to visit monastries around the Namche bazzar.Then Next day after breakfast you will start trekking to Dole through Syangboche village, then you will reach Machherma, then you continue walking to Gokyo Valley. there are five lakes, and these lakes are frozen in some places even in March or April. Then we continue walking to popular viewpoints in the region. For the best views, you need to get up early and go to the Gokyo Ri early in the morning to catch the beautiful view. Then you will continue descends down to khumjung, and then get down to Namche and descends down to Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu.
